Rospa Advanced Riding Test – Final Preparation & Mentoring

20

Jun,2016

With any of our courses should a rider wish to take an advanced test, then their development towards this has been a service we have always been able to offer and incorporated into the day. With 80% of our instructors being advanced examiners, we think we are in a strong position to offer that level or help and guidance that will maximise riders performance on the day. More recently there have been requests from riders that have been trained at a ‘club level’ who have requested our help as a final preparation prior to their test. With that in mind we have now created a half days training where riders can clarify any concerns, have practical instruction, observe a demo ride and complete a mock test with feedback based against the actual test standard. The cost will be £80.

Why do Advanced Training?

17

May,2016

  To avoid situations like this.

First Hugger pit stop for 2016 is Sunday 22nd May.

16

May,2016

Sunday 22nd May is the first scheduled ‘Pit Stop’ of the year, which is part of the Hugger Road Safety Scheme supported by the Safer Essex Roads Partnership. The initiative is aimed at engaging with motorcyclist and subject of their training needs, offering a variety of courses that they could consider to make them a safer rider. Most of these courses are either heavily subsidised or free. These include Bike Safe, Better Biker, Advanced Machine Skills or Advanced Training to name a few. Police will be in attendance, stopping the riders and there after I’m involved in the rider engagement and directing them into the best scheme for their needs. This was very popular last year with some pit stops getting over 100 riders signed up for additional training. This Sunday, the venue is the B184 as you exit Leaden Roding, Essex, which can be a popular biker route. There are 5 more pit stops scheduled later in the year at other locations. This is a great scheme aimed at educating & training riders and hopefully reducing biker accidents in Essex.

Question – ‘What is a typical advanced training day?’

2

Feb,2016

Our instructors are police or ex-police advanced motorcyclist. Before the day we tailor our training to your needs and produce a personalised agenda. Whether this is back to biking or after an advanced qualification. We only train on a 1-1 or 1-2 ratio. We have radios so we can continuously give you instruction. A normal day is between 7-8 hrs in duration. We do some theory, but most is on road practical instruction. Subject to weather and availability we can video the ride and take ‘stills’ which you can access from our Facebook page. If you want we can produce a DVD with commentary at a small cost. You will get written feedback based against a recognised advanced standard, so you can benchmark your skills and progress. You may also become eligible for cheaper insurance.
